A great card at a crowded position can sit unused. That's not much of an upgrade.

Start With the Pipeline Fit

Chase 23 makes the most sense for players working through the new Pipeline content. The program gives you several strong prospect rewards, so it helps to map out what you'll earn before choosing a Chase card. You may already have an outfielder coming from program progress, while shortstop or the bullpen still needs help. The featured 99 OVR player has real appeal, no doubt. He can cover outfield or designated hitter duties and give your lineup a steadier feel. Chase 23 has the new-content buzz, but Chase 22 may do more for a team that needs runs now rather than another prospect piece.

Use the Free Pick Carefully

The Thank You Pack, added August 20 and available through August 31, lets you choose one Chase Card from the current pool. That changes the decision quite a bit. The selected card is no-sell, so don't treat it like a value play you can reverse later. Think about the role it solves. A sensible checklist is.

Pick a player you'll use in your regular lineup or rotation.
